Is there a cheap, easy way to get from Harwich to London?

Direct trains are available from Harwich International station at the quay to London Liverpool Station. The trip take 1:30-1:40 hours and costs about 25 pounds. The service is run by "one" railway.
You could also take the 103 or 104 bus from Harwich bus station to Colchester, where you can find some coach services to London.
