The Average Passenger Airliner that most people travel day to day ....how fast do they travel when cruising.?

Just how fast do they move when say they are in the air after take off and just cruising along after u get the take ur seatbelt sign off

they let you have your seat belt off after 10,000 feet

and cruise around 550MPH (900km/h) at 35,000 -38,000 feet indicated air speed. But ground speed is usually faster due to tail wind.
So if you have a 200MPH tail wind the actual speed would be 750MPH.

Average speed is 475kts or 550 mph at cruise altitude.

It really depends on flight plan and Air Traffic Control,but the average ranges from 350 to 450knots(450 to 550 miles per hour) indicated airspeed.

Hey guys, be careful with use of the term "indicated airspeed"

At 36000 ft pressure alttude typical cruising speed could be 450 knots true airspeed (Mach .784 in ISA), but that is only 260 knots indicated airspeed.
