I'm planning a trip for the summer in late July. I'm thinking Mexico, somewhere like Cozumel or Playa Del Carmen. Would it be mistake do to unbearably hot weather conditions? I've looked at weather charts and they say 88-92 being the avg. temp. for that time of year in those areas. I don't know if I believe them, and would be interested to know if anyone has any personal experience.

I agree with the first post, if you are looking at Cozumel or Playa Del Carmen you are going to have an ocean breeze. You should be fine, after all you're going to be sipping margaritas not digging ditches so hot and sunny is what you should be looking for.

That is true. Believe it.
One advantage on the weather in a tropical country is that the temperature does not varies as much as it does in northern (...or southern) sites. The temperature does not reach as hot as it does as, for example, in Las Vegas on the same time. Here, in tropical areas in México, the hottest season of the year is spring, not summer (it means, right now). By the way, not all México is inside the tropics: Sonora state is out of the tropic and summer is very hot; the north is out if the tropic. They can be at 100º F in july at California or even higher in Arizona or Nevada, while we are at 90ºF. |
