Which vacation city in Mexico is the cheapest to travel to?

I think TJ - Tijuana.

try Monterrey, flight there first, then take the mexican bus ( realy nice not like greyhound ) to citys like Puerta vallarta, colima, acapulco, and guadalajara, also your about 5 o 6 hours from Vercacruz and san luis potosi.......ive done them all.........DO NOT CRUZ to mexico, You will come back broke!!!!....Do NOT go by travel agency, remember, the make money off YOU asking THEM for help

OMG don't go to Tijuana. It is too american than you wont feel it like a vacation. Monterrey is kind of cheap but it is a big city and i dont think you're looking for that.

Cancun is kind of expensive because they have almost the same prices than in America so i would recommend you to go to Merida (which is really cheap and is the safest city in Mexico). Merida has a lot of things to do and it is the heart of the mayan culture.

Now, if you're looking for beaches you can find a hotel near merida near the beach without going to Cancun.

Similar cities are: Villahermosa, Palenque (Chiapas), Veracruz.

If you check with a travel agent, you may get a great deal. Because they get notifications of packaged deals (of airfare and hotel) that beat the compitiion. Maybe a hotel is new and they'll give a low price just to get it filled. So open your Yellow Pages and call some travel agents and see what you can turn up.
