Central America is the southern portion of North America that connects the continent to South America. It is called Central America due to its location between the two larger land masses. Central America is made up of eight countries. These countries are Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic. While the Dominican Republic is not technically part of the isthmus portion of Central America, it is part of the Central American Integration System.

Dominican Republic is not in South America . It is on the island of Hispaniola.

When they issue geography homework, do they not give kids maps in this day and age? A globe? The ability to google "Central America"?
