Has anyone traveled highway 8 to New Mexico and if so how was it?

Do you mean interstate 8 / 10? Interstate 8 starts in San Diego and becomes Interstate 10 in Arizona.

Anyway, driving the interstate is no problem at all. There are plenty of rest stops, gas stations, food and cities on the way to New Mexico. It's also great scenery, it made me really like the southwest. I'm actually going to be traveling through there in the next week, on the way home to San Diego.
