Does anyone have information on traveling inexspensively to Monterrey,Mexico?

Some friends and I are palnning a small trip there and we wanted to know some local/ cheap places to visit there. Are there any decent places to stay that are cheap? What are the major places to visit while visiting there?

I have a girlfriend that lives their..i go all the time to visit her! Well theres this hotel called Ibis...its cool...its about 55-65 bucks a night,,next door is Novelhotel...which costs 100-150 a night! They are located..Ave Lazaro Cardenas 3000! The place for clubs is the Barrio Antiguo...the old hood..i think? Dont worry about the name....thats the place to be for clubs..theres probably around 20 or more clubs down that strip! And theres the Cola del Caballo,the horses tail...its about 30-40 minutes away from Monterrey,its a cascade up in the mountains! Mty is very beautiful....very modern...nothing like some parts of Mexico! The thing to eat their is goat(cabrito) If u dont like that there's almost all the restaurants that u would find in the states,wendys,dave and busters,applebees,ect! They even sell Mountain Dew...no other place in Mexico sells it,,,believe me! Good luck and i hope i was helpful!!

Try the hotels near Valle Oriente or those located in downtown.
We have all the facilities you need. And many many people speaks english.
Our city is big, modern, and has a lot of attractions.
You should go to Chipinque, a drive to the mountain where you can see all the city.
You should go to The Cola de Caballo fall, is small, but beautiful.
You should go to la Huasteca, better look for it a yahoo images.
You should go to GarcÃ*a Caves.
We have 7 universities, the main industries all over México and near 5 million people.
Places you should not go:
Colonia Independencia, La Risca, La coyotera, Las pulgas or places near to the bus station.
