It depends on how you plan to get there.
If by air: As of January 23, 2007 you are required to have a passport for travel. If by land or sea: By January 1, 2008 you will be required to have a passport. I would suggest getting one no matter which you go... It's a great form of identification and it proves your citizenship should it ever come into question. |

It depends on how you are traveling there. I'm going there on a cruise next week, and all I need is my ID and birth certificate. However, they did say ther rules have changed and passengers traveling after a certain date will need passports. So your best bet would be to contact whoever you are traveling with (airline, cruise ship, etc) and find out.

It depends how you are going. If you are driving no, as long as you get a travel permit when you cross the border. If you are going by plane or on a cruise, then you do need a passport. Soon you will need to have a passport even if you are in Texas and going across the border. I think it is rediculous and stupid.
