I am planning on making a trip to Mexico city, this is my first time being outside the US. Which airlines are the best and not too expensive? The only two I have are Continental and Aeromexico, but I've never used Aeromexico before so I am a little worried about service and well the whole flight thing. Now, I really don't know what I would need to do when I get there, is it like in the states? Is there any English speaking personel? And what about money? I am so nervous.. because like I said I've never been outside the country, and I will be alone so it makes it even kinda worse (i think). Anyways, any tips or comments plz :D
Oh! I too need to know, is it very cold/hot in Mexico City? |

Well I just got back from there a week ago. I flew Aeromexico and Mexicana. I have flown with continental as well. Personally I like continental better. On Mexicana and Aeromexico they didn't really seem to inform you of much. Like in continental the airline attendants made sure if you needed anything, they would walk around and get your garbage after a meal- Not the other two. They were like just leave it in the seat! I wasn't thrilled with them but sometimes you have no choice. I too was by myself and I don't really speak much spanish. I only know a word or two. There are some people there that speak english. It sometimes took me a few people before I found one that did speak english. Go to Yahoo.com travel or tripadvisor to find more in depth things about Mexico City. Don't at all be nervous! I'm not sure how old you are but I was a little nervous too when I first left but I was fine once I got there!.. have a great time...hope this helps!!

Fly AeroMexico, you won't regret it. I was so scared to fly to Cancun on AeroMexico. I thought there would be chickens in the aisle and rubber bands holding on the wings. It was the best flight ever. A pillow and blanket in every seat. The plane made two stops. Even though each leg of the flight was only about an hour. We got a full meal each leg. Those flight attendents really bust their tails. Plus, when you land, like 60 people work on the planes. It makes you feel really safe.
The airports are much more secure than in the US. Most people in the airport will speak English, but less than 25% will in the city. Mexico City is hot, but it is also at a very high altitiude and the pollution is terrible. So, fresh air will be a welcome sight when you leave. Take plenty of money. You can go there for very cheap, but the safest parts of town will be costly. I am sure you will be in a safe area. Parts of the city will remind you of a third world country but other parts are amazing. Have a great trip. Oh and here is a website that has great pics. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PhotoAlbum31.html |
