Default Is El Salvador & Costa Rica the two most economically advance/modern countries from ORIGINAL Central America?

By ORIGINAL Central America I mean the Original Five Central American Countries which are Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE BELIZE AND PANAMA BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE ORIGINAL CENTRAL AMERICA.

Well Costa Rica is soley because it has no army and is protected by the US. I wouldn't call El Salvador anything in my opinion. I could be biased because my parents are Costa Rican but I've been both place and El Salvador is not one I'd like to see again.

You see alot of American retirees in Costa Rica and not so many in El Salvador so that must say something. Best place to live between Costa Rica and Panama is Panama. Crime and corruption are taking over Costa Rica. My Mom wants to come back to the US.

"Growing poverty and social problems are leading more and more women to turn to prostitution to survive. In San Salvador alone, there are thousands of women involved in the sex industry."

http://www.illegaleconomy.com/prostitution/prostitution_in_san_salvador.php

Although prostitution is legal in El Salvador, the public perception of sex workers is mired in prejudice and hostility. Sex workers and homosexuals are regarded as the source of HIV and violent assaults are common.

El Salvador still suffers from poverty, with approximately 49% of the rural population living below the poverty line;

But although a 1992 peace agreement put an end to the civil war, El Salvador still has one of the highest homicide rates in the world: 56 per 100,000 population in 2006, according to the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
