Yes. If you are just a Resident and not a Citizen, you do not require a passport. We are travelling to Mexico for the holidays, my husband is a resident, not a citizen yet so we had to look into this and that was what we were told.
Max Power -- We live 2 hrs from the Mexican border(all my life in fact), we come in and out without any type of requirements that we dont already meet or paperwork we dont always carry anyways. Thanks for the info though. |

Mrs. Depp is not the first correct answer. You also need to remember that you need to be able to gain access to Mexico. A US Green Card only shows that you have status to be in the US. It in no way transfers to Mexico. You will still need to meet their requirements for entry, which will depend on which country you are from as to whether or not you need a passport and visa. You should check with the Mexican Consulate for entry requirements to their country
Mrs. Depp, If you are driving there are still no passport requirements as there are in effect at airports. That may explain some of the ease of travel. Those restrictions are changing in 2008 though. At least if the State Department can catch up. |
