i am traveling to mexico how much cash am i allowd to take on the plane?

i am goin to mexico how much cash can i take with me. i have family and everything picking me up so thats all im worried about?

I don't think there is a limit to how much you can take - I think you can take whatever you need. I've never heard of a restriction on that.

You can take as much as you like, but it is much safer to just use your Bank of America ATM card to get out money in pesos after you get there.

I believe it is up to $10,000 over that you have to declare it with customs.

yes, use your atm card so you aren't carrying cash. mexico uses all the cards we have in usa...you will pay a small fee for dollar conversion to pesos but it's better than losing your money

I would suggest ordering some pesos from your bank (like 500 pesos or about 50 US dollars) or withdrawing pesos from an ATM machine once you arrive at the airport in Mexico. If you're traveling across Mexico, to smaller cities, I would definitely carry at least 2000 pesos because smaller towns, especially what I call villages, will not accept credit or debit cards. But if you're sticking to bigger cities or tourist cities, only carry plastic plus maybe 500 pesos.
