Default Best place to travel/visit/vacation to in central/south america (excluding mexico)?

I want to visit somewhere in central/south america...I can speak spanish too...from school haha. I live in the US. I'm just wondering whats a great place to visit and vacation to in these countries.

(I've heard that most of them are third-world countries...which can be dangerous!)

Belize.

Sometimes it can be a little bit scary, but if you stick to the big tourist spots you'll be fine.

I would go to Brazil for the beaches and Amazonian jungles or Peru to see Macchu Piccu.

Actually, Latin American Countries arent the greatest, but by no means are they as bad as some of the places in Africa. Those countries are actually pretty nice. I think that Peru would be pretty cool, seeing Maccu Piccu. And Argentina has real nice architecture, and great accordion music. But the only hispanic country Ive gone to is Mexico (sorry). But it was really nice where i was. It was on the Yucatan. The resort was real nice, and its pretty cool to see the Mayan ruins, but it was really hot.

go to a tour of Costa Rica. or just go to San Jose, or Arenal. they are both pretty, but in terms of nature, Arenal is muy mucho prettier.
