Default How long will the FCO continue to advise against all but essential travel to Mexico. (What needs to change?)?

Does anyone think it will be ok to travel by early June?

It is fine to travel. I would not go to Mexico City. Only because I don't like Mexico City and they have the most flu there. They closed all the schools and public places for a while to keep it from spreading. Now all is open again. We would love for you to come to Mexico

Well all the major travel agents have cancelled flights until the 22nd , and i have been told that by then this warning will have been dropped, i don't think they will continue advise against all travel as there have been very few new cases . I think the only reason it hasn't been dropped yet is in case there is a new surge in cases. I'm travelling to mexico on the 15th of june and i'm pretty certain that everything will be okay!.....They are no loger advising restrictions to travel!!!

You can go whenever you want.
The virus is not deadly, or at least not more than the seasonal flu, and not going to Mexico because of this would be quite pointless considering USA has more infected.
Go to Mexico and tell everyone its safe and fun, and besides we need it right now!

stay away from Mexico city and you will be fine. But it is useless on that issue now, because the US flu cases are higher then Mexico.

The FCO's recommendations make no sense so it's hard to say how long or what it will take to make them change their recommendation against nonessential travel to Mexico.

The WHO are making no such advisement's.

(WHO's Website, link below)
"Is it safe to travel?
Yes. WHO is not recommending travel restrictions related to the outbreak of the influenza A(H1N1) virus."

I'm a Canadian so I have no idea why the British FCO would give such advice other than perhaps they are being extremely cautious.

However, if they are going to be that cautious they should also be advising people not to go outside without pulling a wagon containing a grounded lightning rod as the chances of you getting hit by lightning are about 100 times greater than dying of H1N1.

Edit: Apparently your question was persuasive as the FCO has Just dropped their advisory! Nice work.
