Default Any suggestions for traveling to Mexico 6 mos. pregnant?

My hubby won a trip from his employer to Mexico! Yay! But....I'll be 6 mos. pregnant come July when we leave! So....any suggestions or advice? All appreciated my folks!
Awesome input! So...we are all on one accord to stay away from the water...lol! I will definitely check w/OB regarding trip, and get full check up before leaving. Trip is only 5 days, and if we pass...we pass! We can't cash it in, all expenses paid! But...health comes first, and we will see if I'm permitted!
Sarlee: I will share all the goodies if I'm blessed to go! I'm researching where we're going, Los Cabos, and it looks great! I found out their hottest weather is peaked between June-September...100+...eeekkk!

Don't drink the water or get drinks with Ice cubes...they are made from the same parasitic water. Enjoy

Mexico in July is usually pretty cool weather wise, I went in November and it was scorching hot!

Don't drink anything other than bottled water.

I would watch what you eat over there. see your doc tell her where you are going and make sure there are no types of shots you may need to protect the baby. but other then that it should be fine. have fun!!!

First, check with your doctor to make sure travel is okay for you.

Second, when you're there, drink TONS of bottled water. It will be very easy to become dehydrated - especially in July.

You will have fun - but just be smart about it and talk with your doctor.

Umm... definitly check with the doctor to see if you really need to be making that trip. As beautiful and excitng as that trip will probably be for you, being that far along, it may be a little hot and overwhelming for you. Stay hydrated, but don't drink their water if you can avoid that. Watch what you eat too.... but as long as the doctor says you are okay for it just try not to over due yourself so you aren't overly exhausted. =) Have fun & be safe!

sun screen... LOTS. you will burn very easy. somethign about the bun in your oven makes burning easier. stay away from hot tubs. dont drink the water. even if it is warm drink straight bottled water. so no frozen virgin pina colodas for you! and make sure you bring any meds you might need for up set stomach (food might trigger some tummy problems) and bring clothes that are flowly and loose, you dont wanna be sweating like a pig in an outfit that is stuck to your skin. and have fun. relax, get a massage, do a little shopping. just be free and no worries!

I would say, be extremely careful with everything you ingest while on your excursion. I've heard that Mexico's water isn't as bad as everyone says it is- but I wouldn't want to risk it. Just do the same kind of things you do here, and be extremely careful with eating and drinking, and you should be fine.

Remember to relax, and not stress out, as that puts stress on the baby. This might be the last time you and hubby are alone on a vacation together for a long time- so enjoy every second of it, because 3 months after, you're going to have another human to take care of ;)

Congrats on the trip, and of course, the baby!!

honestly, I dont think its very smart to travel out of the country when your pregnant, cuz if you were to have any complications while u are on vacation, then you wouldn't get the right care. I just think of mexico as really dirty and not a place for a pregnant person. I think u should wait til after u have ur baby.
