Do i need a birth certificate to travel into Mexico?

I am driving to Mexico for a company christmas event so when i get to the border do i need a birth certificate

Yes! But you also might have to produce a passport.

not when you drive into mexico its only necessary to show your birth certificate when coming back make sure you have a valid id to show who yousay you are after january you will need a passport to travel back to the US

AGAIN...passports will not be needed for land travel to and from Mexico until Jan. 2008. Passports will be required for air travel starting Jan. 2007. Never hurts to have a passport, tho. See web site below for the rules. Definetly do need that birth cert to get back into the U.S.

you dont need a birth certificate to travel to mexico.....unless you are traveling further south from the border. in order to travel further south of the mexican check point you need a tourist permit that costs about $20, in order to get the permit you need a birth certificate and a valid i.d. you would also need to get a permit for your vehicle in order to circulate further south. you dont need one if you are at the border town, only if you are going more south.
