I'm planning on traveling to Mexico around the middle of next month, I dont have a passport yet, they are?

saying that people will have until Jan 23 2007 to show proof of a passport to travel in or out of the States. My question is, can I get one abroad in Mexico in case I overstay after the deadline.

I ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU NEEDED TO GET A PASSPORT IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY. CHECK WITH YOUR COURTHOUSE OR POST OFFICE FOR THIS CORRECT INFORMATION. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY. HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD TRIP.

Just go, getiing back into the US is a piece of cake. 12 million illegals won't lie, unless you are an INS officer.

I would do my best to get a hold of a passport. I just heard that all americans travelling to the U.S from a foreign country, including canada, have to show their passport, otherwise they won't let you in. I don't know when this will be enforced, but get one anyways. I need one, if i ever go to Europe.
