Central America?

Central America has been plagued by high population density massive poverty and endemic violence. What factors have contributed to these problems?

The literacy rate in these countries is very low, thus birth control measures cannot be taken. High population and scarcity of jobs is bad for the economy , thus poverty is very common. People are unhappy with their governments, thus many coup d'etats have taken place, resulting in violence.
