You should be concerned about water in Central America! Often the Coca Cola is safer! But what you can and SHOULD do is boil the water. Then after you do this, aerate it...pour it between two clean containers a few times to take the "taste " out of it. I found that boiled water tasted terrible and had a really hard time drinking it. Ready to go formula is a good idea.
Better yet, check out an outdoor supply store for compact water purifiers. They are not terribly costly and might save you a lot of headache later. Bananas there are fabulous. Eat (and feed baby) any fruit with a peel...mangos, bananas, oranges. These are great because the fruit inside is sterile. Avoid street vendors selling ice cream or meat or anything else where bacteria can grow quickly. And wash your hands every time you handle currency. But aside from that have a fabulous trip! Where are you going in Central America? |
