Default just found out i'm pregnant! safe to travel to mexico at 8 weeks? going to playa del carmen near cancun?

just found out i'm about 6 weeks! so happy BUT my hubby and i had planned a trip to playa del carmen (near cancun) in about two weeks.

a bit concerned about traveling at this early stage to a foreign country...playa is in a malaria zone (yikes) and then there is the whole food/water issue

anyone travel to this zone at around 8 weeks? there's so much info out there its easy to get freaked out

It is safe to travel; but you should bring your own water and be careful of the food as well.

You're not any more likely to get any of those nasty things being pregnant... just go down and enjoy yourself.... it may be the last trip you take for a while!!

If you talk to your doctor, and take the precaution necessaries for a trip like that, go and enjoy yourself, drink bottle water and make sure not to eat raw vegetables of any kind since you don't know how were they washed.

first of all congrats!! i think you should try to find info on the area, then if you find any info that you think is important(other than the malaria zone) talk to your doctor about it, and see what he/she tells you. or if you already have traveled to mexico, and weren't affected in any way, i don't think it's any thing to worry about.
