We have been to CR several times-Osa,Liberia,Arenal.. but never to the Caribbean side which I've always wanted to visit. My concern is we usually go in the early summer(green season) and I want to know if that area is to rainy during late June... we want to hike, fish and hang out at the beaches for two weeks, any thoughts?? Thanks Pura Vida

The Caribbean side is a lot rainier than the Pacific side and really doesn't have a marked dry season like they do on the Pacific. The least rainy times are May/early June and September/early October. Except for the beaches at Cahuita, Punta Uva and Manzanillo, the Caribbean is a rougher sea than the Pacific with higher surf.

its our saying and its sooooo true, when its sunny everywhere else, its raining in the caribbean and vice versa.
the best season to go is late september, october, early november.... the best beach on that side is Cocles, which is right next to Puerto Viejo, although there isnt much hiking on that side, but which ever hotel you choose, should have info on the activities nearby... |
