Looking for a Caribbean deal. My requirements are a resort that is on a beautiful beach and also has wonderful pools. I'm traveling with 2 small kids, my husband and my mother. It's very difficult to decide. I really want the place to be as safe as possible. I have gone to Dominicana before so I rather prefer going to other place that I don't know. If someone has a clue!! Thanks

Just a recommendation....Check out www.cheapcaribbean.com on the web.
My wife and I use it all the time. The last minute deals are incredible! There are even resorts that allow the children to stay and eat free! We have used that web site at least 10 times and have never been disappointed. You will be able to determine which spots are "children friendly". Off the top of my head....The Bahamas would be a great getaway but they have few "all-inclusives". Aruba is the same way. If I had small children, I would look into any of the family resorts in Jamaica. Don't pay any attention to the rumors you hear about Jamaica. Day trips are incredibly safe and all of the resorts have security check points. Specifically, I would look into the "Beaches" family of resorts. Remember...Passports are required now for US citizens. Good Luck on your search and have a great vacation. |

The best Caribbean vacation with kids involved would have to be Jamaica. It's a long list to get through of places you could stay. "Beaches" resorts are billed as family packages. Beaches Negril Resort & Spa is a great option.
There's also Franklyn D. Resort in Runnaway Bay (St. Ann) They offer nanny services on arrival and there's also programs for older kids, that allows parents to get away by themselves and do whatever. Pebbles Resort in Montego Bay also offer caregivers for the kids. Starfish Trelawny Resort (Falmouth), Ritz Carlton Golf & Spa Resort Rose Hall (St. James) and Sunset Jamaica Grande & Spa (Ocho Rios). You can go to www.visitjamaica.com to get more info. To the top right of the page click on vacation themes and choose family. Read up and ask a travel agent to help you. Good luck and welcome to Jamaica!! |
