It depends on what you call "legitimate". Is it a legal company? Yes. Can you make money on it? Yes. Your best bet would be to conduct your own research and make a decision based upon YOUR findings, not what others say. I know of quite a few people who have businesses within the organization who are doing well. I have my own opinions from personal experience based upon the services I used, but they are just that, opionions.

I've been with YTB for a bit too as a travel agent and marketing rep, but haven't made any money. I've booked travel but I haven't even come close to getting back what I've put in. I have stayed with it hoping to take a vacation and save a decent amount of money before I quit. (I'd stop now, buy my husband wants to take a vacation first) I was under the impression when I started this that I could earn income by just booking travel alone if that's what I chose to do. That hasn't happened for me, but I won't say that some out there could do it. I think the way most people make money in YTB is by getting others to join.

YTB, in my opinion, is only good for those able to travel extensively and get enough of a discount to pay for what they've put in to their business. If someone has the money to spend to get started ($450) and pay the $49.95 monthly fee, that do it, but if you are seriously needing to make money, I'd think twice before you jump in. There are no refunds given.

If you want to work at home, look for a company that will give you some time to see if it's for you and will give a refund if it doesn't work out for you. I did, and now I'm doing something completely different, gotten the help/training I needed, and I had 4 months to decided if I'd stay with it or get 100% of my investment back...the investment was only $29, and I'm sticking with it.
