Last yr. i spoke w/a neighbor who says she made a lot of money at home as a travel agent but this was b4 9/11.
I don't know what to believe anymore about the economy, you read one thing and then something totally contradictory the next. Is our economy stable enough yet to where Americans would invest in more nice little vacations? Or is the real question due to many peoples distrust due to potential terroism? |

If anything, I have flown and travelled mroe since 9/11. Travel is alive and well in a lot of areas. Maybe talk to people in the area you want to serve and make a questionaire to find out their habits and spending, or if they will even use an agent or if they rely on online resources.

I would look for an established travel agency in your area and write or talk to them (sometimes, appointments to meet are better--I suggested writing because, by common sense, the nature of their business makes it hard to pull someone aside to "feel them out"). Talk to an airline you trust and use the same method. I personally think our economy is more stable than perhaps three years ago here in America. I believe people would invest in more short, nice, vacations than extended ones--some are still uptight, including this answerer, regarding terroism.
