how much is the stuff compared to America?
please list some examples.
food.. sushi, etc.

Look at the Lonely Planet travel guide to get some ideas for cheap lodging so that you can spend more of your money on things to see, do, and take home. I recommend the New Koyo Hotel for a cheap night in Tokyo.
