There are a few choices which are cheap and still around town, such as the 7th storey hotel in the Bugis area, the South East Asia Hotel in the Middle Road area. All these are roughly below 100 Sgd. They are not fantastic hotels, but ther locations are great.

Hotel 81 Bencoolen is around orchard, and it is not as sleazy as the other Hotel 81s around Singapore.

If you are interested in hostels, you can find info from this site, www.studentuniverse.com.

Hope you have a great time in Singapore. Its a great place :)

if ur travelling on a budget, try this link. Decide what part of Singapore u want to be nearest to (its only 43 km across)

http://hotels.online.com.sg/budgethotels.asp

Also if ur on a budget be wary of tourist trap areas like Clarke Quay unless you allowed a lot of cash for eating out, social activities, etc. You do have to visit Clarke Quay at least once though. Have a go on the bungee!!

The hawker food at food courts is excellent and about a third of the price in the tourist trap areas so save money there during the day.

well, if you're looking for a budget accommodation in Singapore, i'd suggest hostels which you can find list of them on this site 88db,like the Bugis backpackers which is located at Bugis Village, or you can also try YMCA IH which is located at Orchard Rd....have fun
