I'm a college student visiting my boyfriend and we've run out of things to do. I'm eager to do the touristy thing without spending too much money. I'm into music and art, so any suggestion that accommodates to this would be great! Also, I like taking a lot of pictures, so a nice place to get some nice shots would be great as well.
Thank you! =) |

Jump on a train and take one to Salem, Rockport anyplace like that for some great scenery and restaurants.
Right now is the best time to go for photo's and meeting the locals that own those small businesses. If you are really adventurous take the train to Portsmouth, NH or even better to Portland, ME and there you will find the most unbelievable views in the country. |

You should definitely go see The Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse... it's a really intimate setting and it's sooooo awesome!!!
I think a good picture is in Copley Square, get a pic of the old Trinity Church and the Hancock tower. It a cool pic because its a mix of old and new architecture. Also, the duck tours are kinda cheesy, but they're a lot of fun... or any trolley tour for that matter, but it might be kinda cold out for that. If you like shopping, Haymarket square/quincy market is a fun place... You don't have to buy... just browse ;) If you want some great pictures of historical places, take the freedom trail... its a walking trail that takes you through Boston to some historic sights.. really interesting... and some good pic opportunities! Hope this helps... HAVE FUN! |

Have you been to Quincy market? That is a Boston must see. Also - I would hang out at Fenway Park area (if you are going there during baseball season) as it is a great place to be during the season. Additionally, you should check out cambridge / harvard square area - very artsy and does not require you to spend much $.
Have fun! |

The Museum of Science is a fun place to go and it is on the Charles river where you can take some good pictures.
You could also go to the Kennedy library near UMass Boston which is on the harbor and a great place to walk and take pictures. The Aquarium is also a fun place to visit and is on the waterfront which is great for pictures. |

There are many great things to do in and around boston. One idea is the Museum of Science. The blue man group is amazing. I think they play at the wang theatre, im not sure. Another couple is the freedom trail which will cover a lot of historic sites, and there is this place called Tomb, I think that it is in kenmore square, well it is near fenway park that is a fun interactive exhibit. If you like taking pictures I recomend the Arnold Arboritum. There are lots of different trees and such. Lastly go to castle island in south boston, (it is NOT an island but when the fort there was in use it probally was). There is a restaurant with cheap boston grub. I mentioned the fort, which you can get free tours. You can get some great photos of boats in the boston harbor, planes taking off and landing at logan airport, and some pictures of the boston skyline. I hope this has given you some ideas of things to do in boston.

Right now the Boston Flower Show is over at the Bayside. It's a little bit pricey, but it's a glorious taste of spring. In the past I've gotten literally breathtaking photos there. Plus it's so much fun to walk around and see all that green! And it's easily accessible by the T. You can check it out at http://www.masshort.org/New-England-Spring-Flower-Show
Definately go town and poke around Fanuel Hall. To bad the weather is so funky, there will be less street artists. But it's always fun, and has food/drink at all prices. Same thing for Harvard Sq. If you are into art you might check out the Harvard art museums. The Fogg is great. Also the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum over in the Fenway area is stunning and very unusual. If your BF has a Boston library card he can get free passes to some of those. If not you can check for discount rates. Are you here for longer than the weekend? If so please post it and I will list some more suggestions. It's just that the weather isn't looking really nice, so I wouldn't really think you'd want to do some of the other things I have in mind unless you'll be here until it clears up a bit. You guys might want to hit the North End for Italian pastry and cappuchino. It's an easy walk over from Faneuil Hall. And a dim sum brunch in Chinatown is usually lots of fun and very reasonably priced. Hope this helps some. Have fun! |
