Default Aquariums and other sites to visit in Boston?

We'll be visiting a friend in Boston in a few weeks, and she wants us to decide what sites we want to see while we're there. Other than an aquarium, we're not sure. My son is a sports nut. Suggestions?

The Aquarium is great--try to go out on the whale watch. It's close to Quincy Market, which is a good place to walk around to shop for souvenirs and get food. You can also check out the Museum of Science, which has lots of exhibits for kids. Try taking the Duck Tour which goes all around the city and out on the river. The Public Garden and Boston Common are good places to take a walk. If you can, of course go to Fenway Park to a Red Sox game.

Quincy Market; Faneuil Hall Marketplace; Duck Tour;New England Aquarium. Boston also has a great science museum. Take an "historical" tour through the city and visit places like the Old North Church, the Freedom Trail, etc.

Fenway is a must, as it is one of, if not the, oldest original ballpark stadiums in the US. Order your tickets early and remember: In Boston, they put vinegar on their fries!

I'd add to the list, the Harbor Cruises or Whale Watching, both near the aquarium. There is also The Museum of Science dowtown that is accesible via public transportaion via the subway. Also the Pru has an observation deck

Sports nut? Hello! We're the "City of Champions"! I would definitely recommend taking a tour of Fenway Pahk. I'd say go to a game but you might actually have to sell your son to get tickets since they've been sold out since last December!

Take a Duck Tour-easiest way to see the sights of Boston. You can also take a guided tour on the Freedom Trail-more history that anything else. A costumed historical character will narrate your tour. I think the tour stops in the North End which is a fabulous place to have an authentic Italian lunch-and while you're there check out Mike's Pastry on Hanover St. The cannolis are outta this world and they have great lobster claws (creme puff pastry, not seafood!) and rum cake.

I'm not sure how old your son is but there's a great Children's Museum too and the Museum of Science features the Omni Theater which is a 360 degree theater.

Have fun!
