Default Hotels near Boston subway?

A friend and I will be spending a couple of nights in Boston in August to attend a couple of games at Fenway Park. We are looking for relatively cheap lodgings in the Boston area that is easily accessible to subway for access to the city. Anyone with experience have any suggestions?

CHECK OUT

EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO WALK TO THE PARK, IT'S NOT FAR AWAY. ALSO THERE IS A HILTON AROUND THERE. BOTH ARE ON TOP OF THE SUBWAY THERE.

all of the downtown and back bay hotels are all in walking distance to the T, but if you want really cheap and dont care about accomodations then check out hostels...theres one within walking distance (you can see fenway from the place) to fenway park...its usually a BU dorm during school months that used to be a hotel for like $30 a night...otherwise cambridge hotels tend to be cheaper than in boston...good luck

You may want to check out the suburbs of Boston in say Somerville Ma or Malden Ma. There is a Holiday Inn in Somerville and an Econolodge in Malden and they are both accessible to the MBTA, that you can take the Bus and train into Boston. The closer to Boston that you go the more expensive it will be. There is also Inn's and hotels in Cambridge MA
