I'm going to boston in August with my mom, dad, brother (14 years old) and I am 17 years old.
If you can supply me with unique things to do or places to go that would be great! (not like the typical things you would see in travel guides) Thanks! Oh I forgot to mention we also may stop by Salem for a day trip so suggestions for that would be much appreciated! (thanks to all who answered so far...) |

boston is awesome :)
-take a duck tour (MAKE SURE YOU GET SUPER SIZE. he is the funniest guy everrr.) -go to the boston museum -go to the boston common park -catch a sox game! -go to canobie lake park (ride the yankee cannon ball and boston tea party, awesomest rides ever!) -go to faneuil hall, it's just nice to walk about there. -drive down to the cape and enjoy the beach-like area -nantasket beach! sorry, i'm only 13 so i don't really know EVERYTHING about boston. but, these were great places to go to :) i'm not ignorant :( canobie lake is fun to some people and so what if it's in NH, it's close. |

There are lots of things to do in Boston: Some of my favorites include:
Walking the Freedom Trail Visiting Faneuil Hall Shopping (Filene's Basement, Back Bay, and Copley Place) Visiting the U.S.S. Constitution (One of America's oldest Navy ships) Going to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum Visiting the Boston Common/Garden Watching a Red Sox game Going on a Duck Tour. Have fun! |

as a teenager from boston (born and raised)
i can honestly tell you that you and your brother are not going to have much fun i have friends here so i have fun but unless you like looking at history you minus well bring a laptop unless you have money then you can go to downtown boston where theres so many awesome stores. cambridge too..just hop on a train. i love harvard, harvard square is good if your into the "punk rock scene" because theres stores there that sell those kind of clothing. like hootenannys harvard has alot of interesting stores...harvard sq and central sq you can get to them on the red line. (train aka MBTA) theres this shoe store i came across it was funny. it had platforms like a foot tall that were also penny banks(piggy banks) lots of places to eat lets see what else......beaches... they are cold but nice (except revere beach) i love the science museum there. they have a dinosaur exhibit thats kinda new...the art museum has real mummys....the aquerium has starfish and things you can play with as well as a 3d theater...seal shows....and whale watching BUT IT ALL COST MONEY lots of money so if you have money you can have fun oh and about the tourist attractions i cant help you there lol ive never a been a tourist to a city where i was born. although i do see a lot of tourists in harvard sq. tourists from all over the world. france india china its so cool. i DONT suggest talking to the locals there theyll just try to have sex with you lol girl or guy doesnt matter yeah.....alot of guys/old ladies in boston are like that you learn to make fun of the situation ANDDD dont listen to that ignorant person cause canobie lake isnt in boston its in NH. and its not that fun trust me its a waste of money |

Salem is a really cool town. You'll feel like you have stepped back in time. Visit the Salem witch museum - very educational and interesting. There are all kinds of other places to visit. When you get there, people will be able to tell you all the other places to visit - mostly within walking distance. It will be well worth your time to spend a day touring Salem.
