Of course Boston has several. The Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons are world-wide luxury chains, and their Boston properties deliver 5-star experience. Ritz Carlton has two proerties, I think the Boston Common is the better choice.
On a smaller more intimate scale the Eliot Hotel might fit the bill. |

If you are on vacation, I'll stay at the Marriott Copley Plaza Hotel. I don't know if it's 5 stars, but it is good. It's inside the Copley Plaza Mall and links to the Prudential Shopping Center.
Another good hotel is the Hotel Commonwealth - it's next to Fenway Park. Great Hotel but the location might be too rowdy for you - it's next to the ball park. Yes, the ritz Carlton is great also. |

There are several. Nine Zero which is on Tremont Street in downtown Boston is a boutique hotel. Jurys Boston, in Back Bay on Berkeley Street, won Boston Magazine Best New Hotel last year. There are two Ritz Carltons, the one overlooking Public Gardens was recently renovated. The Four Seasons also overlooks Public Gardens.
The Copley Square hotels: Hyatt, Westin, Sheraton, Fairmont Copley Plaza are fine, but not luxury hotels. |
