Default Cheap and fun things to do, places to stay and eat in Boston and surrounding areas?

I'll be in the Boston vicinity for about four days and am looking for fun things to do on a budget, any ideas? Where are the good restaurants and bars?

The NO Name restaurant is a great place for seafood. It is on a pier, somewhere. But as superior as the food is; the service is ( or was ) inferior. i would still go again.

fun cheap things to do; take a walk into the Boston public gardens via Boston common. Once inside see all the beautiful flowers then tak a ride on the swan boats only 2 bucks and is a nice ride. There is the USS constituation in Charleston, Go to LONG WARF BOSTON HARBOR, take the "T BOAT" 1 dollar, and again nice ride and you can see all of boston + OLD IRON SIDES (CONSTITUATION) is free. JFK Libary (red line train to JFK UMASS) very good museam and info about john F keendy, only 6 or 7 dollars cheaper for students. Eating take a walk to the North end pizzer reegina a real old histoic pizzeria, not expensive, Quincy market. Arcross from there you got Durkin park rsturant. If your under 30 I would try THE BLACK ROSE OR PUPPLE SHAMROCK. IF you want more or any question email me cc26cc@yahoo.com

I agree with what the previous answers are with one exception. The Top of the Hub is a pretty expensive place to dine. I don't recall if someone mentioned the Freedom Trail, it's a nice walking tour of the historical sites. The No Name is a cheap eat, and the food is very good. Walk Newberry Street, nice place to window shop, but trendy prices.
