Going for a short break in a few weeks to barcelona, we are looking for a reasonable hotel, in a lively part of barcelona close to bars, and places of interest.
What are the best bars, clubs, restaurants and sights to see whilst there? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks |

Hi,
I was there in 2004 and went to an amazing club caled "La Paloma" You'll have to check out its address and whether it's still open or not, but if it is and you like to boogie into the night then get yourself down there. Be warned though, it doesn't really get going until about 1am. Barcelona is definitely a city for the "night owl" My advice for finding other places is go to an Irish bar (where people will speak English) and ask the locals. They always know best. Barcelona is a great place: You'll have a ball. Watch out for the prostitutes on Las Ramblas. They'll have your wallet if you're not careful. Tim - Coventry, UK |

Stay in Barceloneta. It's on the beach and supposedly where all the partying goes on. Also relatively inexpensive.
Sights? check out gobcn.com...you'll find the list there...or you can search other answers. I've filled that one in so many times, I'm too tired! :) |

Hi!
In Barcelona there is so much variety of bars , restaurants, but my suggestion will be the bars in the area "el borne" the best is to walk around as there are so many nice bars there, just be careful with the pickpockets at all time. About restaurants you must try this one is near las ramblas and is very good value if you go friday or saturday night you have to book in advance http://www.centfocs.com/ Clubs is the same as bars there are so many and depends of what type of clubs you like. Have a look on the internet this web is great for things to do and much more http://www.barceloca.com/english/ Finally about accommodation check out these apartments they are very good value and located in the center http://www.apartamentsurgell.com/ my friends stayed there for 3 days and they love them. Enjoy Barcelona Adios! |

It's probably a great time to go to Barcelona now, as you'll have some great offers for hotels, etc. Check out Hotel Jazz, Catalonia Plaza and Hotel Inglaterra -all great locations, as very centralbut nice and safe - all 3 star, so should get a decent rate.
Don't discount an apartment, either, as a group booking can often save lots of cash (kitchen, couple of bedrooms, internet, living space, etc.) For a decent Barcelona guide, see here: http://www.bcn-rentals.com/barcelona-guide you'll be surprised at how easy it is to fill your time! Have a good one! |

If you want to get in touch with all the night life you have some options:
You can take a hotel near the Gothic Quarter wich is plenty of bars and other nigth clubs. Also can take it near the Barceloneta wich also have a lot of pubs and clubs And you can take it at Port Olimpic zone which have the most important discos all over the city. In any of them you will be able to get the best from the Barcelona nightlife. About hotels: I left you a little help to find the best rate and place to stand there. I hope that it help you. http://www.prontohotel.com/esp/barcelona/ |

Definitely stay by las ramblas, yes there are pick pockets as in any major city but you feel safe while there. No point going out to clubs until the early hours, they are open from 1am till 7am.
I would just search hotels in booking.com or somewhere. I stayed out of barcelona on both occasions but had to travel in by car or train, but this was tiring. The tour bus is good. I would do this as your first trip as it shows you all the sites and then you can get on and off as you wish. Best to buy ticket that lasts more than one day cause there is loads to see. |
