a nice english speaking hotel in barcelona, spain?

my family (from america) is taking a cruise around europe next summer...the departure port is in barcelona. we need to spend at night in a hotel in barcelona. what is a cheap, affordable, friendly, nice, english speaking staff hotel in barcelona?

To be honest, almost all the hotels in Barcelona have English speaking staff (say 3 stars up), so don't worry. English in schools is obligatory until 17 years old, so most people have a good knowledge don't worry. It's a case of even stopping people on the street and asking if they speak English - the usual answeis "un poquito" (a little bit) and then they go on to answer your question pefectly!!! So have no fear!!

I just came back yesterday from Barcelona from a nice hotel called Hotel Ronda. We got a cheap deal so it's not expensive, and it's only about a 5/10 minute walk to the Rambla, and many things are walkable from there. It's pretty much right in the city center. Most of the staff looked Asian, but they all spoke good English, and made us feel welcome. :)
