Default Does anybody know of any hotels in Bangkok?

Me and my boyfriend are travelling to thailand and would like a hotel for when we first arrive in Bangkok for 2 nights. This is our mini 10 day break before we go travelling around australia so it needs to be fairly cheap but we would still like it to be nice.
Not too much like a hostel but not some mega expensive palace either.
Thanks very much everyone....:-)
ps just thought ifanyone knows any on kahosan road that would be even better thanks :)

There are millions on Khao San road and a lot of them are dumps or hostels so that doesn't really fulfill your requirements in my opinion. There are also some ok places near Khao San road but not on it that are ok. You will find the best prices on the internet here:

Otherwise, just go ahead and go to Khao San and as it is not high season until December you will have many choices in the area that will have rooms available.

Really young people stay in the Khao San Road area. When you are a little more mature you realize that perhaps the Siam or Sukhumvit Road area might be a little better because of the Skytrain.

Here is a link for hotels in the Khao San Road area, you may have to wade through some of the other hotels though.

What does cheap mean to you? For me it is around $25 US on down, for someone just returning from Japan it might be $60 US on down! What particular price range do you want?

Good luck.

Khao San Road is close to the river, close to some of Bangkok's best sites (that take more than one day) and there's great markets and food around the area and the university near by. Boonsiri Place Hotel is really a convenient place to stay in Khaosan, not so noisy motobikes as in the other places, and about 10 minutes walk to the Grand Palace and 5 minutes to Kaosan Road. another point i want to say is that there is a
seven 11 at the front floor, which is really convenient. and most importantly, the room was really clean. http://discovery-thailand.com/Hotels%20Map%20Pages/Khaosan%20Hotels%20Map.html have a nice trip!!
