Default Feedback on hotel- Amari Boulevard Bangkok?

Hi
Just wondering if anyone has stayed in the Amari Boulevard Hotel , Sukhumvit in Bangkok. Thinking of staying there - we're in our early 20's- would you recommend??

I have stayed in the Amari Atrium Hotel on Phetchaburi Road, it's a 4 star but, I would not rate it that way. I read some of the reviews in www.asiarooms.com and they confirmed my suspicions that you don't get what you pay for. Which was the case with the Amari Atrium Hotel.

Keep in mind that the rating system is self imposed. So, the ratings of certain hotels are always suspect.

The location is great right in the middle of alot bars and restaurants. If that is what you want then you may be very happy staying there.

If you are looking for a clean hotel in the same area. Try the Nana Hotel at around a third of the cost of the Amari Atrium. And for that you can have a lot more beers.

You can check www.asiarooms.com or www.sawadee.com for some of the best hotel rates.

Good luck

I haven't stayed at the Amari Boulevard, but have stayed at a couple of other Amari Hotels and was satisfied with the quality and service of their hotels. Other hotels in that price range in the Sukhumvit area that I have visited, (I live in Bangkok) and can recommend are the Dream Hotel, S15, the Adelphi Suites, Centre Point and the Majestic Grande. All very nice hotels at fair prices. No offense to the above answer, but the Nana Hotel is not for everyone, it's probably the favorite hotel of sex tourists right in the middle of one of Bangkok's red light districts, not really suitable for couples. Have fun.

Almost across the street and down a little is the Fortuna Hotel. It's not too bad! (I use their "all you can eat" breakfast buffet every now and then, it's open to the public.)

Good location. Easy walk to Nana Skytrain, malls, street vendors, restaurants and travel agents. Right across the street from the Amari Boulevard is the Foodland Supermarket where you can find a pretty good lunch counter and lots of neat stuff in the store.

Given the choice between the Amari and the Landmark Hotel (on Sukhumvit Road, not far from the Amari,) and money is no object, I would choose the Landmark first!

Definitely recommend for a short stay.

Can get to Pratunam market and Pantip plaza easily if you don't mind a 10 minute walk from the skytrain at the other end. The neighbouring soi offers a great range of Middle Eastern cuisines. Check out the little supermarket a little further on from the hotel, great for little bits like English tea, Thai bakery and a great value noodle bar.

Make sure you take the skytrain in both directions, Siam Square offers lots of malls together, but I ventured in the other direction and found smaller malls with individual boutique-style shops, a must for the January sales. G'luck!

I highly recommend any of the Amari chain of hotels, they're very accomodating and I've never had a problem with any of them.
