How much do you end up paying after your allowance from the voucher? If the voucher pays in full for your stay use it! If the voucher is only a discount off a regular full price - how much is the price you end up paying?
My advice also is to choose a hotel in the Sukhumvit Road area near the Nana Skytrain stop. The First Hotel, the one at 2 Phetchaburi Road is probably okay, but that area is mostly for shopping. Nearest Skytrain stop is around a 8-10 minute walk to the Asia Hotel. Usually it is the cheaper hotels that have a "guest friendly" policy. More expensive hotels charge you a little bit. Pattaya will be cheaper for hotels and easier getting around plus with an interesting nightlife. (Only around 120 baht to take the bus from Ekamai to Pattaya!) Massage parlors are all over the place. Many are in store fronts with people walking by. You can get hotels in the Sukhumvit area that are in the 850 baht to 1200 baht range that are not too bad. Lot of nightlife, travel agents for tours, restaurants, street vendors and malls. Good luck. |

First Hotel is ok, I've stayed there before, in my opinion the rooms are abit old, there are better hotels available for the same price. Like everyone else says, the hotel is in the main shopping districts for clothes in Bangkok.
Rachadapiesk Road is probably you best bet. Most of the massage parlors your probably refering too are located here, and is easily reachable by MRT. Rama 9, Huai Kwang, and Sutisan staitons all have access them, with Huai Kwang probably offering the most, along with loads of clubs and bars. There are 3 clubs behind Esplanade that are nice and have a good mix of Thais and foreigners, which at the Thailand Cultural Center station. |
