A few friends and I will be going to Baltimore next month for a weekend trip.
We're probably going to go see the Orioles play, and we'll be stopping in DC along the way.. but we'd like to know about any other interesting places to visit. We're all in our early 20's. Any good nightlife? Casual clubs, that allow 18+? Interesting places to eat? Any good shopping spots? Outlet malls or flea markets? Any tourist spots, landmarks, or museums that are actually worth seeing? Also, how is the public transit system in Baltimore? Subways or light rails? Easy to navigate, safe? Any info is appreciated! |

STD's baby lol!
but you could go to the baltimore harbor. theres a little water taxi that they have that goes from one end of the harbor to the other. they also have a little mini cruise on this big ship. Baltimore also has tons and tons of restaurants from countries all over the world. I dont know exactly where they're located but they're pretty much everywhere so they shouldn't be hard to find. |

Well I just went to DC and Baltimore and I loved the Orioles Game. The Boardwalk in Baltimore is really cool, go at night. We ate at the ESPN Sports Zone and that was pretty cool and had really good food! Ummm there is a really cool old pirate ship that you can tour on the Boardwalk. It seems like Baltimore is a really crowded place. I like DC better. Have tons of Fun!

First of all, the aquarium is a great place to visit. It gets a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth the trip.
Secondly, the Inner Harbor is a great place to relax. Plus, there's lots of history there. There's also a Hard Rock Cafe and ESPN Zone walking distance from the Harbor. Camden Yards is also close by. Baltimore can get really dangerous, especially at night, so stay with the crowd. Enjoy your trip! |

The inner harbor is a nice place to visit. There are shops, clubs, restaurants...the nightlife is good at the inner harbor. I don't know all the name, but the Power Station, Have a Nice Day Cafe are decent.
By day, there is a great aquarium and if you're into ships, the USS Constitution is there, along with a submarine, and a lightship. Little Italy is pretty cool. Aside from the immediate downtown area, I don't feel safe in many parts of Baltimore City. Light Rail and public transporation do exist in the city area, but to get from Baltimore to DC, you'd need a car. |

The Inner Harbor is right down the street from Camden Yards. This has short boat trips in and around the area. Good places to eat...just down the street is Baltimore's Little Italy which has some pricey and some reasonable places - all within walking distance from each other in a safe and old neighborhood just a block or so from Inner Harbor (which also has various restaurants and a small mall). There is the Baltimore Aquarium which is pretty neat (not cheesy).
Power Plant Live! A block away from Baltimore's Inner Harbor is Power Plant Live, a premier dining and entertainment district that features a variety of restaurants and nightclubs surrounding a common plaza. There is also outdoor seating which often features live performances. Fells Point is not far from Inner Harbor- you can google that- there are various clubs and local shops D.C. : if you are making your way out here (from some place farther than a few hours...) There is a pretty good subway system that runs around D.C. and towards Montgomery Co. all the way to Frederick, Md (see link below "wmata.com" and/or google D.C. metro) (but no metro from B'more to D.C. - you will have to drive over to D.C. - make sure you map this out before going...to avoid unsavory spots in both B'more and S.E. D.C.) Georgetown is full of shops (youre in D.C. so a little pricey) as well as down to earth ... a fun day trip. you could start at the Smithsonian "Nt'l Mall' and see museums, memorials, and if you are into museums or history, then take a quick walk around the Lincoln Memorial, next to Vietnam Memorial...Museum of American History is pretty neat...Arlington National Cemetary is right across the bridge from Lincoln Memorial and the changing of the guard is pretty cool. Clubs that allow 18 y.o.'s (far and few) mostly 21's. you mentioned a flea market- check out link for easternmarket |
