Backpack travelling is were u get this very large backpack and u put things like a sleeping bag, food, u know all the things u need when u go camping. Then u hick up some where and u camp. My dad and I do in all the time. It is a lot of fun we go every year. The hard part for me is the hicking up to the river we go to. But after we get their i'm so happy. When u go camping a lot of the time u can still here the road. But backpacking u cant.

It has different meanings in different parts of the world.
In most of the world, it refers to a form of low-budget traveling where your luggage consists of a large backpack that you can carry as you travel, usually visiting many destinations in one trip - thus the backpack facilitates your mobility compared to traditional luggage. Often you have little or no itinerary, stay in hostels or other low-budget accomodations. In much of the US, "backpacking" also refers to what much of the rest of the world calls "trekking." In this case, it refers to an outdoorsy form of traveling, where you carry everything you need (clothing, tent, food, cooking supplies, etc) in a large backpack as you hike for an extended period from one point to another. |
