It'll be no vacation. It's more of a soul-search; nothing but me and my journal. It will probably be for a year or so, and I surely expect to learn languages and work under the table wherever I can, if I can. What I've figured, at least so far, is that I'll need at least a large bank account to get started until I can raise cash along the way, especially if I have some bills to pay in the States while I'm gone.
How much money do you think I should start with? Has anyone here who's gone on a trip of this nature have any insight to share as far as budgeting? Thanks! |

Well i went to Europe with my family 2 summers ago. We went all over europe it was great. My adivice to u is to take about 200 thousand dollares because it is very expensive in the hot spots like france and england. Dont eat at five star resteraunts go to the place right out of town if u want to save money. France is super expensive so if u are planning to go ther plan to take more maney like 300 thousand dollares

I was in Europe for 8 months some time ago. We bought/leased a campervan for six of the months. I did not work while I was there, and the Euro is much higher now. You will need a big bank account, but take little cash. Depending upon your comfort level, you might consider having between $500 to $1000 per month emergency fund. But, if your're not careful, it could go to double that. Sounds daunting, doesn't it?
