Check out the website, as it tends to change fairly often. My wife came on a fiance visa, but we've been married nearly ten years, so it might have changed a lot by now.

You're making a fantastic choice getting married in Australia!

Marriage rules are open & easy, and you can literally marry in virtually any place you want.

Marriages in Australia do not have to be conducted in a Church, Town Hall or Register Office. To have a civil wedding in Australia, all you need is two witnesses, you & your partner and a Wedding Celebrant.

Favourite locations to get marrried in Australia are the Sydney Opera House, Bondi & other Sydney beaches, Uluru (Ayers Rock) and the Queensland's Gold Coast. Beach weddings or cliff-top weddings are also really popular.

Legally, for marriage in Australia you will need to prove your identity & that you are single so you are free to marry. What you will require will depend upon where you are from. Wedding ceremonies conducted in Australia are legal in most countries including the US, UK, Canada, Ireland & Europe.

Go to the Australian Births, Deaths and Marriage website to find out more.

Happy honeymooning.
