I'm planning a two week holiday from West Coast of USA (I'm in Seattle, but expect to have to connect via San Francisco or Los Angeles), flying into Sydney or Brisbane. We're aiming for November 5-16. The prices are already going up every time I look, but it is still many months away. Should I wait to buy, hoping it will go down in price a bit?

The longer you wait, the more expensive they will become. The prices are based off availability. You are saying it is still so far out, but with certain destinations such as this people do book/plan in advance. That is why you are seeing the hike every time you look.
You can wait if you like, but it may go so high to the point that you might find you are unable to go. Book ASAP is the best advice I can give you. I would suggest contacting a local agent as we do work with air consolidators with international fares. Sometimes they are better in rates, but they are pre-contracted fares that are required to be in a certain class of service. Plus they might be able to help you obtain your Visa and make sure your passport is good 6 months beyond your return date. Good Luck |
