I will be travelling Oz/working from next July and someone tells me you need a specific amount of money to get into the country. Cannot find anything referring to this online..does anyone know how it all works? Also with your Visa?

For someone on a working holiday, AUD$5000 plus money for your return airfare is generally considered sufficient.
See Financial Requirements on: http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-holiday/417/eligibility-first.htm Sorry, don't understand what you mean by "Also with your Visa?" |

For a non-working holiday visa you have to prove you have sufficient funds to live on without working. You will also require evidence of a return plane (or boat) ticket, plus evidence of medical insurance and evidence of a fixed UK address. You should allow at least £2000 per month to prove your financial independence if you are on a 'non-working' visa
