Default What do Brits want when traveling to Australia ?

Help ! I an Aussie who is studying tourism and I am doing research on what Brits think of Australian accommodation standards and I need your help !

What do Brits expect from their accommodation ?
Prefer a shower or a bath in the room ?
Are Brits really into drinking tea and would there be outrage if a hotel room didn't provide a kettle and tea making facilities ?

I've Googled, I've emailed the Australian embassy in London, I've contacted Tourism Australia, I've posted a question on Facebook and I'm getting nowhere, so for any Brits out there who have travelled to Australia and would like to help me with my assignment, I would be extremely grateful !

I'm not a brit, but my boyfriend is and I lived in england for a couple of years so I think I qualify to comment.

Brits expect their accommodation to be clean, reception to be polite, have a view and be cheap (it should be at least half the price than in england). They also expect to be greeted with "g'day" and things should be "bonza". (this was a joke, although the bf has admitted that he would like it).

They would prefer a shower and a bath but will probably only use the shower. If there is no bath they will complain that they would love one.

Brits do drink a lot of tea (so do I) and it would be appreciated if there were tea and coffee making facilities. If there are not facilities, the level of outrage will be determined by the cost of the accommodation. The more you pay, the more extras there should be in the room.

hope this helps.

Hi sonni
I'm a brit and traveled to Australia a few times, in general if the weather is good which is true for most of Os, I don't think the accommodation is a major factor. I've spent time in backpackers, motor homes & posh hotels, beverages, biscuits & tea that's all we need. 'O' The shower of course, no bath required. clean sheets clean towels. Of course all Aussies we came across in general were very polite. In all! your doing a fine job down their...... You don't need to change mutch, any brits who want more than this, Well!.... their the winging pom's. Hope your study goe's to plan, good luck.
