Well that is hard to say you would have to check with the airlines in your country. The way the oil price keeps going up who knows but I would take a guess of at least $2,000 each return. Best thing to do is work out when you want to visit then search for the best deal and pay for the tickets as soon as you can as it locks in the price even if you don't use them for a couple of months or so. As far as I know most airlines have a twelve months policy on use of the tickets so buy them now and use them later. Ask for any conditions etc before you buy. Basic living it depends on what you class as basic I think Australians have a better lifestyle than most countries and cost of living is reasonable compared to others although again with the price of oil everything keeps going up.
Before you buy your travel tickets I would suggest that you plan your holiday first. Work out what you want to do in Australia eg work and travel or just party from one spot to the other. You have to apply for the appropriate visa according to what you want to do as there are conditions placed on visas that will restrict from you working if you come over on the wrong visa. Do your homework and you should have a great time as Australia is a great place to visit with many things to see and do. |

For basic living:
Food: Normal meal would be A$6-12 per person in fastfood Rental: If you will be renting a unit/flat you will be looking at maybe A$160-220 per week You can visit this blog for useful information re settling in Australia: http://orangefeather.blogspot.com/ Public transportation links will be found in the link above Regarding air fare, it's best to check Quantas website or other airline website for a more definitive quote |

What i recomend you do is fly from lax - bne(brisbane), drive to the gold coast, fly to syd(sydney) then fly to mel(melbourne). Your airfares for 2 return would set you back about 6000AUD. In brisbane you can do lots of thing such as the story bridge climb. At the gold coast you can go surfing and visit all the themeparks, in sydney you should go to darling habour and from darling habour you can go anywhere via public transport. In Melbourne, lots of shopping. I am from brisbane and have been around the world and the US was my last visit(L.A) . You should fly with qantas. Although, check with your local travel agent. My itinerary is very breif but thats what i recomend. Flights, Accom., Food, tours(things to do), spending money should be around 15000 - 20000AUD depending on your budget. Hope you have a good time, and hope i helped. :)

Well it depends on where you are and what flight company you go with for flight costs.
And it also depends on where you stay and what state/suburb you want to stay in.. I live on the goldcoast in QLD which is basicly the biggest turist destination in Aus, it costs anything from 70-400$ per night in a hotel again everything depends on what your expecting.. for food expect to pay around 100 bucks for 1 week each. getting around on busses on the goldcoast would cost you around 25$ for the 2 weeks. |

" live on the goldcoast in QLD which is basicly the biggest turist destination in Aus"
Complete rubbish. the Gold Coast doesn't get nearly as many tourists as Melbourne or Sydney. Where would you be going do you think? The outback? Major cities? Theme parks? I would reccomend going to Melbourne, Sydney and maybe Brisbane and the Gold Coast for a few days each. possibly visit Canberra (the capital) while in Sydney. You could also go to some Quensland islands and the outback but if you are going to Perth etc you will have to pay for another long plane trip. And remember not to go to just one place. If you just go to Sydney for example you will only get to see a small portion of Australia and looking at the Opera house won't keep you entertained for two weeks :) I can only reccomend things for Melbourne as I live there but the city is great and has heaps of shops plus Australia's tallest building (to roof), there are a few zoo's a bird sanctuary, boat rides to the penguins on Phillip Island, wineries, and if you went in the AFL season you could watch some Aussie footy (Melbourne is the home of AFL so there are matches on every week until September). Have fun! Jon |

Hmm, in melbourne I know people rent for 200-400 dollars a week but i think the living conditions are good. I know food and housing in Melbourne is cheaper than Sydney. For example, food in sydney is 2-3 dollars more than what they charge in melbourne. Idk, i'm just a 15 year old xD
