Is it truley expensive to travel to australia?

Yes, very I was there two years ago and the flight was $1500.00, plus unless you know someone, you have to figure in housing unless you are going to back pack, then spending money. The flight time from Michigan was a total of 23 hours if I remember correctly but the longest flight was one of our connecting flights. Which was the last one, LA to Brisbane, it was 13 hours straight.

Yeah, I couldnt believe how much I spent when i was in Australia and new Zealand, it was sick. im from the states and I thought since the Au Dollar was weaker than the American it wouldnt be that bad.... boy was i wrong. Wont make that mistake again! Good luck

yes, since australia is the #1 exporter in gass it is very expensive to land a plane there because of the goverment owned land

yes i heard it was..well for the plane ticket i guess it depends where you live, from the US its pretty far so youd have to pay alot.
but just the things there like diving and going places i heard was kinda expensive and stuff

the flight is expensive. I always travel with EF, which cuts the cost down quite a bit, you are traveling with a group, but you still get to do pretty much whatever you want. I have visited many countries with them and always have a ton of fun, you don't have to be in college you just have to be between the ages of 18-26. Check out this trip:
