I think the max is 50 kilos, but recommended no more than 20 kilos... I dont wanna find a metric-imperial calculator do it urself lol.
Well there's plenty of stuff to do here. How long are you staying? If you're just staying in Sydney, then you can do the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb, there's plenty of beaches. You can go to Centrepoint tower. You can do some pretty crappy skiing, but during the summer (dec, jan, feb) you can go to mt koskiusko, our tallest mtn. It's accesible via a little village called Thredbo village which is pretty cool. During the winter its a snow resort but in the summer it has hiking and stuff. Umm umm umm you can go to Uluru (or Ayers Rock) which is the largest stone monolith in the WORLD! Go to the gold coast! It has our big theme parks like Dreamworld, Wet & Wild (a water park), Seaworld, Movieworld. Umm umm there's really cool stuff to do all over the place! |

If you are travelling to or from Australia with no internal (domestic) flights in Australia then that has nothing to do with Australian regulations. You will be able to take whatever Emirates allows as check in luggage. Ring them or go to their website for accurate information about their baggage allowances.
Internal flights within Australia are different. Each airline has its own baggage allowances. The airlines that fly domestically in Australia are Qantas, Jetstar (related to Qantas sometimes sharing flight codes), Virgin Blue and Tiger. Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Blue have the widest range of services. Tiger has limited services. Their websites are: www.qantas.com.au www.jetstar.com.au www.virginblue.com.au www. tigerairways.com Some people have guessed what baggage you can check in in Australia on domestic flights. Don't rely on this inaccurate information. Excess baggage is expensive. Minimum excess baggage costs are $5 kg but usually more. Some airlines have check in allowances as low as 15kg (Tiger) or20kg(Jetstar). As I have said, go to the websites and check baggage allowances accurately. The cheapest fares on any of these airlines are obtained online. The discount airlines: Jetstar, Virgin Blue and Tiger are very strict on latest check in times before flights. If you are late for check in you will not be allowed on the plane and have to buy another ticket. Where some international travellers have experienced trouble is when their flight to Australia has been to a destination not serviced by their international airline. So they may fly into say Sydney for example on the international airline then continue on to say Brisbane on a domestic carrier like Jetstar. Some travellers have found that because the domestic baggage allowance is lower than on the international airline that they are faced with excess baggage fees. I don't know if you are in this situation. If so check again with Emirates as to whether you will face these extra charges. Someone else has already given you a website to check for things of interest in Australia. Best of luck, |
