Default Isn't it time that Australia and NZ were taken out of the "Travel" section?

The section could be called "Antipodes" perhaps!

Suggestions, please?

Don't people still travel to those countries occasionally?

We could also lump all of the Americas together and go back to calling them the New World, like they did in the 15th century.

You need to hang on tight, because I think, you're losing your grip on reality.

Hi Z,

I think you are quite right... It would be nice to have a spot where clear thinking Aussies and Kiwi's could head for, to avoid the misconceptions that are so often experienced on this forum.

Every person from the US who responds to my questions about John Howard's Liberal Party has the exact opposite conception of what we know to be Liberal (i.e. conservative)

Anyhoo it will never happen... life is soooo cruel :)

Hmmmm, good ppoint.

I mean, there could be a spot in the travel section for travel related questions, but questions of a more general nature should really have a 'general' section.

I mean, there is an Australian 'Answers', so how come we have to come to Travel to ask and answer questions about the upcoming elections!

Good point, Zucchinis!

Cheers :-)

Antipodes of where? The antipodes of Australia fit rather nicely into the Atlantic Ocean north of the equator. The antipodes of the UK are southwest of New Zealand in the cold Southern Ocean where the closest land would be the Antarctic islands populated by penguins and seals.

From the point of view of Australians and New Zealanders such remote settlements as New York and London are near the antipodes.
