Cheap countries to travel to from Australia?

My bf and I were wanting to travel to Thailand mainly because it's cheap and we haven't been overseas before. Now he wants to go somewhere else because he doesn't want to get 'bombed' by terrorists. What other countries are as cheap as Thailand?It can be anywhere...

first off let me start by saying ur bf is a pussy. thailand was the greatest time of my life, and ud be stupid to miss out on it cause u think u might be bombed. but all throughout south east asia is an option for u, i heard cambodia is a great place, good ppl and very cheap, but out of all my buddies, i heard bali, indonesia is the place to be. if u have ur scuba diving ticket ive heard micronesia is a good one, off the coast of japan and so u can explore the wreckage of WW2 japanese battle ships that were sunk during the war...if this question were to be asked in a year id give u a hell of alot better answer cause im gonna travel throughout. good luck, and sweet adventures

I seriously doubt you'll get bombed by terrorists. You shouldn't stop something like that (an unecessary fear) keep you from visiting what is otherwise an extremely beautiful, gracious country. But, if you still don't want to go, Cambodia is beautiful and the people are very welcoming. Food is great, temples, etc, are all worth visiting. Anywhere else in South-East Asia would fit the bill as well.
