Default Should I go to UT Austin or Texas Tech U?

OK! so i am a senior and I have two weeks to decide. essentially, this is my dilema:

If i go to Austin, im likely to go alone and i know i might party too much. but it is a better schoool. Plus, Austin is more my kind of city. and the business school is reknown and thats what i want to do. the theatre school is good too and thats what i want to minor.

If i go to ttu, I will be with my best friends and i think life would be more comfortable there and opportunities would be easilier accessed than if i went to ut. plus, they have fashion design (but how good can that be in lubbock?) its in lubbock and i dont really know how good or how bad of a school it is. ive reasearched but only heard extremes on both sides. plus, im scared that i wont like life in lubbock.

im very city-kid and urban outfitters and stuff so i really dont know. please help!!!!

Well, taking into account the fact that you're going to be living there for 4 years, personally, my top priority would be picking the city I wanted to live in (since the schools sound comparable, at least).
It sounds like your best reason for going to TTU is that your friends are going, so if you make your decision based on that, you may end up regretting it (ie, choosing the comfortable/easy route instead of the one that would be the best for you).
You shouldn't worry about not knowing anyone when you first start school - there's tons of other students in the same position.

Either way, you can always transfer if you don't like it.

Get in a good freshman dorm at UT and you will meet plenty of people. Personally i think going to a school were you dont know anyone is the best idea. That way you dont just end up hanging out with the same people all the time.

Thats what i did (im a junior at TTU). I love the school but the town is nothing special like you said. Austin is much more fun. Additionally, UT is a more prestigious school.
